El guardó atorgat per Siemens Healthineers suposa un reconeixement a l’esforç, l’excel·lència i la innovació tecnològica en l’àmbit de l’atenció i la recuperació del pacient amb accident cerebrovascular.
El projecte One Step Ictus d’atenció ràpida i personalitzada en la prevenció de l’ictus implementat per l’Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron ha estat premiat com a millor iniciativa en la contribució d’una assistència sanitària d’alta qualitat enfocada a l’atenció del pacient. També s’ha valorat l’adequació de tot l’àrea de radiologia intervencionista, optimitzant els circuits i els espais.
El premi, que s’inscriu dins de la subcategoria de disrupció assistencial, ha estat recollit pels doctors Manel Escobar, director clínic de Radiologia i Medicina Nuclear de Vall d'Hebron i Carlos Molina, cap de la Unitat d’Ictus i coordinador del Procés Ictus de Vall d’Hebron, que han agraït aquesta distinció en nom propi i del conjunt de professionals que conformen el programa One Step Ictus, projecte pioner al món.
Els T.H.E Awards (Transforming Health Efficiently Awards), en col·laboració amb Diario Médico, tenen com a principal propòsit impulsar la transformació sostenible del sistema sanitari i, en la seva primera edició, han reunit a més de 170 referents de l’àmbit sanitari d’especialitats com ara cardiologia, neurologia, oncologia, diagnòstic per la imatge, teràpies avançades, laboratori, així com responsables dels principals centres hospitalaris i organitzacions públiques i privades.
Durant la cerimònia es va posar l’èmfasi, des d’un vessant innovador i transformador, en els desafiaments estructurals del sistema sanitari, sobre el que recau una major presència de la tecnologia sanitària reportant un benefici en l’activitat clínica.
One Step Ictus ha permès dotar l'espai de neuroradiologia intervencionista amb l'última tecnologia. El resultat ha estat que l'equip de professionals de Neurologia i Neuroradiologia avaluïn, diagnostiquin i tractin als pacients de forma més àgil i efectiva davant un ictus, la primera causa de discapacitat i segona de mortalitat a Espanya.
