Trastorno Obsesivo Compulsivo (TOC)

Las personas que sufren un Trastorno obsesivo compulsivo se caracterizan porque tienen pensamientos recurrentes y perseverantes que generalmente resultan desagradables, lo que se denomina obsesiones.

Además, estos pensamientos provocan acciones o rituales repetidos que sirven para “poder hacer frente” a dichas obsesiones, llamados compulsiones. Algunos ejemplos de compulsiones serían: el lavado de manos, los comportamientos religiosos (tales como rezar una plegaria escrita exactamente 15 veces para evitar que algo malo suceda), contar y supervisar las cosas (p.ej., asegurarte de haber cerrado la puerta, el gas...).
