Read more The new Vall d'Hebron We inaugurate the VHIR Central Building The new VHIR Central Building, covering 16,792 m², is a key space for promoting research, innovation and teaching at the New Vall d'Hebron. Designed by BAAS Arquitectura and Espinet Ubach, it houses 600 researchers and plans to incorporate a cyclotron to develop personalised diagnoses and treatments with advanced therapies such as gene therapy. More information Barcelona approves new outpatient building The City Council has approved plans to build a new outpatient building in Vall d'Hebron, with 11 floors and 42,500 m², which will bring together most adult outpatient services. With an investment of more than €82 million, it will offer 250 consultation rooms, 100 offices, a day hospital, a pharmacy, radiodiagnostics and rehabilitation, in a patient-centred model. More information We have renovated the Haematopoietic Progenitor Transplant Unit The new Transplant Unit at the Children's Hospital, funded by the Aladina, Albert Bosch and Small foundations, is the first phase of the Realidad Mejorada (Improved Reality) project. With an investment of €7.4 million, it consists of nine semi-critical care single rooms, designed to promote comfort and family support. More information We have doubled the rate of almost complete recovery in stroke patients with the One Step Stroke Room The One Step Stroke Room allows for immediate examination and treatment, achieving almost complete clinical recovery in 48% of patients after direct thrombectomy, compared to 27% in the traditional circuit. The Haematopoietic Progenitor Transplant Unit has been refurbished, the breastfeeding chairs in Neonatology have been replaced, and a new lounge for people with spinal cord injuries has been created. The waiting room of the Traumatology ICU has also been decorated with an artistic mural, virtual reality glasses have been introduced in Paediatric Oncohaematology, and two more breastfeeding rooms have been refurbished.
