We are the combination of four hospitals: the General Hospital, the Children’s Hospital, the Women’s Hospital and the Traumatology, Rehabilitation and Burns Hospital. We are part of the Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus: a world-leading health park where healthcare plays a crucial role.
Patients are the centre and the core of our system. We are professionals committed to quality care and our organizational structure breaks down the traditional boundaries between departments and professional groups, with an exclusive model of knowledge areas.
Would you like to know what your stay at Vall d'Hebron will be like? Here you will find all the information.
The commitment of Vall d'Hebron University Hospital to innovation allows us to be at the forefront of medicine, providing first class care adapted to the changing needs of each patient.
We place women at the centre of care, offering comprehensive support from normal pregnancy to highly complex cases. We are a reference centre in neonatology, gynaecological cancer and advanced surgery, always prioritising family-centred care.
How to get there
The Women’s Hospital places women at the heart of care, always respecting their wishes, and is able to provide highly complex care without the need to transfer the mother or newborn to another centre under any circumstances.
We are the reference hospital for women, providing care ranging from basic services to advanced treatments for high-risk pregnancies, foetal surgery and prenatal diagnosis.
We believe in the importance of keeping mother and child close. For this reason, we always prioritise breastfeeding and encourage families to stay together for as long as possible.
At the same time, we are the reference centre for premature babies. We have the only public neonatology service accredited by NIDCAP and are pioneers in kangaroo care, skin-to-skin contact.
At the Women’s Hospital, we respect the mother’s decision on how she wishes to give birth, whether naturally or with medical intervention. We are the only centre in Catalonia able to provide highly complex care without transferring the mother or newborn to another hospital under any circumstances.
In addition, we are a leading hospital in breast pathology units (breast cancer) and gynaecological cancer (ovarian and uterine). We are also a reference centre for robotic surgery and minimally invasive surgery, national leaders in the implementation of enhanced recovery after surgery, and a leading centre for endometriosis in Catalonia.
