I am the Chief of the Thoracic Surgery and Lung Tranplant Department of the hospital. I have a special interest in minimally invasive techniques such as videthoracoscopic and robotic surgery. In addition, I am a member of the Lung Transplant Surgical Team.
In 2010 I finished my residency in Thoracic Surgery after 5 years of training at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital and since May 2019 I am the Head of the Thoracic Surgery and Lung Tranplant Department.
During my training, I have performed serveral clerkships in hospitals affiliated with the Harvard Medical School (Massachusetts General Hospital and the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston), expanding the knowledge in Lung Transplantation and Videothoracoscopic Surgery.I have a PhD in Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona with the Doctoral Thesis entitled "Pulmonary Transplantation in Cystic Fibrosis and the Influence of Extracorporeal Circulation."
From the educational point of view, I have been responsable for the residents of my specialty and co-director of courses for residents of surgical specialties.Researcher in several lines of experimental thoracic surgery such as the application of new pulmonary aerostasia products, ex vivo lung transplantation and the creation of pulmonary transplant models.
Currently, I am the president of the Catalan Society of Thoracic Surgery and reviewer of the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery.
