Dra. Alba Farràs
I am a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology, working in prenatal diagnosis. I am also a researcher in the Maternal and Fetal Medicine research group in Vall d’Hebron Research Institute. My research is focused on the prevention of prematurity. I also have an interest in teaching and innovation, and I am part of the Hospital's Innovation Committee.
Curriculum
I graduated in Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2012 and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital (2013-2017).
At the end of the specialization, I started working in the Hospital's obstetric ultrasound department, where I have been specifically trained in ultrasound prenatal diagnosis. In 2017 I obtained the pre-doctoral grant "Amics de la Vall d'Hebron" and since then I have been linked to the VHIR and collaborated in different research projects in the area of Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
In 2018, I developed a 3D printing project in obstetrics that was the winner of the Hospital's first innovation competition.
In 2022 I finished my PhD studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
Currently my care activity at the hospital focuses on prenatal diagnosis and I continue to work on research and innovation. Since 2022 I have been part of the Hospital's Innovation Commission.
