El nou edifici concentrarà tota l’activitat ambulatòria (consultes externes i gabinets de proves) de pacients adults, activitat que representa el volum més gran de tot Vall d’Hebron.
Aquest dilluns 7 de juny de 2021 s’ha publicat la licitació per elaborar el projecte bàsic i executiu i la posterior direcció de les obres de construcció del nou edifici de serveis ambulatoris de l'Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron. Així, des d’ara i fins el 7 de juliol de 2021, els bufets d’arquitectura i enginyeria poden presentar el seu projecte sobre com ha de ser aquest nou edifici d’usos ambulatoris, que es construirà just davant de l’Hospital General, a l’altra banda de la Ronda de Dalt, al barri de la Teixonera.
Actualment, els edificis ambulatoris de Vall d’Hebron es troben dins del Campus hospitalari. La proximitat dels serveis ambulatoris amb les unitats hospitalàries provoca que es generin grans congestions de persones. Per descongestionar el recinte del Campus i fomentar que esdevingui un espai més reposat, sense el soroll i moviment circulatori actual, el Pla director d’infraestructures preveu desplaçar tota l’activitat ambulatòria de Vall d’Hebron (excepte les consultes externes de pediatria recentment inaugurades) a aquest nou espai. Així, l’edifici concentrarà tota l’activitat ambulatòria (consultes externes i gabinets de proves) de pacients adults, activitat que representa el volum més gran de tot Vall d’Hebron.
