A la consulta s’atendran els malalts un cop hagin estat donats d’alta de l’hospital per tractar les seqüeles respiratòries que puguin tenir.
El Servei de Pneumologia de Vall d’Hebron obrirà una consulta externa específica per fer una avaluació i seguiment de les seqüeles pulmonars que poden tenir els pacients que han patit una pneumònia per COVID-19. “La consulta se centrarà sobretot en aquells pacients que durant el seu ingrés hospitalari han tingut una forma greu de la malaltia amb insuficiència respiratòria, però també estarà oberta als metges d’atenció primària de la nostra Àrea Integral de Salut que creguin convenient fer-nos una derivació”, explica el cap del Servei de Pneumologia, Jaume Ferrer.
La consulta externa que posarà en marxa Vall d’Hebron, on a més del Servei de Pneumologia hi col·laborarà el Servei de Radiologia, té com a principal objectiu portar a terme un control de les complicacions pulmonars que poden tenir els pacients de COVID-19 un cop han superat la malaltia. “A més, permetrà aprofundir en el coneixement de la COVID-19 més enllà de la seva fase aguda, en els seus efectes a llarg termini i pronòstic, ja que molts d’aquests pacients han estat inclosos en estudis de recerca”, afegeix el Dr. Jaume Ferrer.
En concret des del Servei de Pneumologia i en col·laboració amb l’UCI i el Servei de Radiologia s’està duent a terme un estudi que intenta relacionar els mecanismes inflamatoris de la fase aguda amb les alteracions observades en la fase de cronicitat.
