El treball analitzava els resultats preliminars obtinguts amb l’ús de la navegació amb verd d’indocianina en cirurgia pediàtrica oncològica, hepàtica i neonatal
El Servei de Cirurgia Pediàtrica de Vall d’Hebron ha guanyat el premi a la millor comunicació del Congrés de la Societat Espanyola de Cirurgia Pediàtrica (SECP), que va celebrar-se a Vigo del 23 al 25 de maig. El treball, presentat per la Dra. Gabriela Guillén, cirurgiana pediàtrica especialitzada en cirurgia oncològica, analitzava els resultats preliminars obtinguts amb l’ús de la navegació amb verd d’indocianina en cirurgia pediàtrica oncològica, hepàtica i neonatal.
“Es tracta d’una substància fluorescent que fins ara s’utilitza sobretot en cirurgia d’adults i que permet identificar diferents estructures anatòmiques així com teixits tumorals, tot augmentant la seguretat i la precisió de la cirurgia”, explica la Dra. Guillén. El verd d’indocianina és molt útil en cirurgia laparoscòpia, afegeix, perquè el cirurgià no té sentit del tacte.
El treball del Servei de Cirurgia Pediàtrica de Vall d’Hebron reconegut per la SECP, explora entre altres, les aplicacions del verd d’indocianina en tumors pediàtrics com ara els de fetge, on s’ha demostrat efectiva. “Hi ha molt poca experiència en cirurgia neonatal i a la nostra sèrie l’hem fet servir en dos casos de nounats amb malformacions del tub digestiu amb èxit, el que ens ha permès reduir el temps quirúrgic”, afegeix la Dra. Guillén: del total de 22 procediments en 20 pacients on han fet servir aquesta substància, s’ha demostrat útil en un 90% dels casos.
