L’Hospital de Traumatologia i Rehabilitació Vall d’Hebron va acollir la primera edició del Curs Nacional en Rehabilitació de Deformitats del Raquis.
La trobada va tenir l’aval de la Societat Espanyola de Rehabilitació i Medicina Física, i va comptar amb ponents de prestigi internacional. Entre ells, el Dr. José María Climent, cap del Servei de Rehabilitació de l’Hospital General d’Alacant i el Dr. Ferran Escalada, cap del Servei de Rehabilitació de l’Hospital Parc de Salut Mar de Barcelona. També hi van participar el Dr. Joan Bagó, de la Unitat de Cirurgia del Raquis Vall d’Hebron, i la Dra. Elisabetta d’Agata, de la Unitat de Recerca de la Columna Vertebral del Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR), i el Dr. Fabio Zaina, president de la Societat Internacional del Maneig Ortopèdic de les Deformitats del Raquis (SOSORT).
A banda de les diferents ponències, el curs va comptar amb un taller pràctic amb pacients en el qual es van poder veure les modalitats d’exercicis de les dues escoles de fisioteràpia per a l’escoliosi. El taller va anar a càrrec del Dr. Manuel Rigo, director de l’Institut Elena Salva de Barcelona i també director de l’escola Barcelona-Schroth, i de la fisioterapeuta Alessandra Negrini, de l’escola italiana SEAS. L’èxit del curs ha portat la seva direcció a proposar que les futures edicions es realitzin de nou a Vall d’Hebron.
