At the Advanced Clinical Simulation Center, clinical processes and procedures of any degree of complexity are recreated in environments comparable to real ones.
Vall d'Hebron is committed to training in a space that allows clinical processes to be recreated in environments comparable to real ones without an error putting any patient at risk.
The Advanced Clinical Simulation Center, inaugurated in April 2022 and located on the fifth floor of the Traumatology, Rehabilitation and Burns Hospital, is one of the largest simulation centers integrated into a hospital in Europe.
The space has the latest technology to recreate clinical processes and procedures of any degree of complexity in environments comparable to real ones, in order to improve the quality of care and patient safety. The simulation allows immersive training in technical skills, specific to each specialty, in a controlled and error-free space, and also serves to develop non-technical skills, such as communication skills, leadership, teamwork or decision-making, which are not usually influenced by the academic world and which are fundamental for the good development of healthcare activity.
The Center has a High Complexity Space that reproduces a Critical Care box, an Emergency box, an operating room and two outpatient clinics, so that healthcare professionals can train and educate themselves with maximum realism. It covers a total area of 1,400 m2 and is the largest simulation center in the State integrated into a hospital. It also has virtual reality simulators that allow you to practice everything from obstetric maneuvers to surgical interventions with laparoscopy or operations with robots.
Vall d'Hebron already has more than 560 simulation instructors, with teaching skills to lead a simulation, explain its theoretical foundations, direct technical and non-technical skills training programs and design and evaluate simulation environments.
