Sr. Manuel Quintana Luque
I am a biostatistician with a PhD in medicine. Since 2001, I have been working in research groups affiliated with the Neurology Department, and currently, I am a part of the Epilepsy Unit at HUVH and the Research Group on Status Epilepticus and Acute Seizures. at VHIR. My main activity consists of managing epilepsy projects and clinical trials, as well as conducting data analysis for different ongoing projects within the group
Curriculum
Diploma in Statistics (2000) and Bachelor's degree in Applied Statistics (2011) from UAB. I completed the Master's degree in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at UOC (2019), and more recently, I obtained my PhD in medicine from UAB (2022) with an epidemiological and hospital cost study of epilepsy.
With over 20 years of experience as a biostatistician in the Neurology Department, I have conducted statistical analysis of data from national competitive projects as well as internal research projects. Currently, I am part of the research team in epilepsy, where I am actively involved in research activities, managing various projects and trials within the group, as well as handling statistical and bioinformatic data.
I am the co-author of over 150 articles published in indexed journals, mostly derived from projects related to epilepsy. Currently, I am a co-investigator on two competitive projects within the group, primarily focused on the search for biomarkers (proteins and microRNA) associated with epileptic status and the prediction of new epileptic seizures.
