I am an ophthalmologist in the Retina section of the Ophthalmology Department. My subspecialty is Vitreoretinal Surgery and Medical Retina including Macular Surgery, Retinal Detachment surgery, Diabetic Retinopathy, Age-Related Macular Degeneration and Ocular oncology (Choroidal Tumors).
Curriculum
I did the Ophthalmology Speciality at Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron. Since 2003, I have been a consultant in the Retina Section, initially in charge of Age-Associated Macular Degeneration and later Diabetic Retinopathy, macular vitreoretinal surgery and Retinal Detachment surgery. I did my PhD in 2003 with the qualification of Cum Laude and got an Extraordinary Doctorate Award. I have participated in 35 publications in indexed international journals, I have made oral communications in national and international congresses of my subspecialty and I have collaborated in book chapters and therapeutic clinical guides of the Sociedad Española de Retina y Vitreo. I have collaborated in clinical trials and FIS projects that have been carried out in my Department. I have been tutor of residents since 2006 and a member of various scientific societies such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Spanish Society of Retina y Vitreo, EURETINA and the Catalan Society of Ophthalmology, in which I am the treasurer at the moment.
