La ELSO ha escollit Vall d’Hebron per organitzar aquesta formació internacional, dirigida a preparar els futurs instructors en ECMO mitjançant simulació clínica.
Vall d’Hebron ha acollit la primera edició europea del curs Train the Trainers d’ELSO (Extracorporeal Life Support Organization), una formació internacional destinada a preparar els professionals que formaran futurs equips assistencials en suport vital extracorpori (ECMO). Després d'una primera experiència pilot el 2022, la ELSO ha escollit Vall d'Hebron per organitzar la primera edició oficial d'aquest programa a Europa.
El curs s’ha desenvolupat amb simulació d’alta fidelitat, debriefing estructurat i el mètode DASH, entre altres eines educatives. Ha reunit 28 professionals seleccionats internacionalment, el màxim de participants previst, procedents de diversos països i disciplines (medicina intensiva, cardiologia, infermeria i perfusió), tots amb una àmplia experiència en ECMO i destinats a esdevenir futurs instructors i a liderar la formació als seus centres. El curs ha comptat amb un professorat integrat per alguns dels principals experts internacionals en educació i ECMO.
Segons explica un dels membres del comitè organitzador, el Dr. Jordi Riera, especialista en medicina intensiva de Vall d’Hebron i director del Programa d’ECMO d’adults de l’hospital, “el programa segueix els estàndards educatius d’ELSO, considerats la referència internacional en formació en ECMO. L’objectiu és formar futurs instructors perquè puguin traslladar aquesta metodologia als seus centres. Aquesta aposta per una formació de qualitat acaba repercutint directament en una millor atenció als pacients”. El Dr. Riera forma part del Comitè d’Educació d’ELSO i coordina el Grup de Treball d’Educació de la secció europea d’ELSO.
Amb aquesta iniciativa, el Programa ECMO de Vall d’Hebron consolida el seu posicionament com un dels referents internacionals en assistència, recerca i formació en ECMO. L’organització de la primera edició europea oficial del programa Train the Trainers d’ELSO suposa un reconeixement a la trajectòria del programa i reforça el seu compromís amb la transferència de coneixement, la simulació clínica i una formació estretament vinculada a l’excel·lència assistencial, amb un impacte directe en la qualitat i la seguretat dels pacients.
