Education

We generate, share and advance knowledge across all areas of the health sciences to educate the healthcare professionals of today and tomorrow. At Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron, together with our research institutes and specialised services, we provide education of the highest standard, integrating patient care, teaching and research.

We offer a comprehensive range of educational programmes, from undergraduate studies to specialised healthcare training, residency programmes and continuing education, ensuring lifelong learning throughout every stage of a professional career.

Research

At the Vall d’Hebron Campus, we conduct research focused on developing solutions that improve people's health. At the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), we integrate basic, translational and clinical research to transform scientific knowledge into new diagnostics, treatments and healthcare solutions. The close collaboration between laboratories and clinical units enables the rapid translation of scientific advances into clinical practice, allowing patients to benefit from innovation sooner.

This model of innovation and applied research has made Vall d’Hebron a strategic partner for leading companies in the biomedical sector, which choose our environment to conduct early-stage clinical trials and develop new therapies, reinforcing our position as an internationally recognised centre of excellence.

In oncology, the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) drives multidisciplinary translational research that connects science with patient care. Its work, organised around preclinical and translational research, clinical research and technology platforms, expands our understanding of cancer biology and supports the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies that improve patient care.

Communication

We work to maintain close, clear and accessible communication with patients, citizens and healthcare professionals. Through a cross-cutting and multichannel strategy based on transparency, consistency in corporate identity and innovation, we promote communication that connects all the institutions within the Vall d’Hebron Campus.

Our aim is to consolidate Vall d’Hebron and its professionals as a benchmark in the field of healthcare, fostering relationships of trust and strengthening the connection with people. This approach to communication helps bring knowledge closer, facilitate access to information and provide a better experience for both patients and the wider community.
