El rànquing que elabora l’Instituto Coordenadas de Gobernanza y Economía Aplicada analitza els centres hospitalaris espanyols públics i privats amb més compromís amb la qualitat i la sostenibilitat d'un sistema de salut universal.
L'Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron és, per segon any consecutiu, el millor centre hospitalari de Catalunya i, per primer cop, el tercer de l’Estat, segons l’Índex d'Excel·lència Hospitalària (IEH General) 2025 publicat per l’Instituto Coordenadas de Gobernanza y Economía Aplicada (ICGEA).
La desena edició d’aquest rànquing anual de centres públics i privats l’encapçala l’Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz de Madrid (1r), seguit de l’Hospital Universitario La Paz de Madrid (2n), l’Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron de Barcelona (3r), l’Hospital Universitario Gregorio Marañón de Madrid (4t), l’Hospital Universitario Clínico San Carlos (5è), l’Hospital Clínic de Barcelona (6è), l’Hospital QuirónSalud de Barcelona (7e), l’Hospital Universitario Quirónsalud de Madrid (8è), l’Hospital Universitario Reina Sofia de Còrdova (9è) i l’Hospital Universitari Sagrat Cor de Barcelona (10è).
L'Índex d'Excel·lència Hospitalària (IEH) analitza els centres hospitalaris espanyols públics i privats amb més compromís amb la qualitat i la sostenibilitat d'un sistema de salut universal. Per elaborar-lo, l'ICGEA té en compte paràmetres com ara la qualitat assistencial, el servei hospitalari, el benestar i la satisfacció percebuts pel pacient, així com la capacitat innovadora, l'atenció personalitzada i l'eficiència en l'ús dels recursos assignats.
L'IEH s'elabora a partir de tres eixos: l’IEH general –els 10 millors centres a nivell nacional–, l’IEH autonòmic –els cinc millors de cada comunitat autònoma– i l’IEH per especialitats –els tres millors, segons especialitat–.
Per dur a terme aquesta anàlisi, l'ICGEA ha realitzat 2.300 enquestes a professionals de l'àmbit de la salut procedents de diferents hospitals de tot l’Estat, donant com a resultat un IEH basat en les dades i els resultats d'aquests centres, així com en les percepcions dels professionals que hi treballen.
