The Burn Patient Care Area at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital provides comprehensive and specialized care, including emergency services, critical and step-down hospitalization units, operating rooms, day hospital, gym, therapeutic park, and specialized consultations such as micropigmentation. It cares for both adult and pediatric patients, coordinating medical, surgical, and rehabilitation services to ensure continuity of care. The Burn Unit is a reference center in Catalonia and nationally, accredited by the European Burn Association, covering a population of over 8.7 million people.
Notable initiatives include the Burn Patient Process project, which reviews and improves 145 key points within the unit to enhance care quality and patient satisfaction. With this approach, the area combines clinical excellence, innovation, and comprehensive support to address the physical and emotional complexity of burn patients.
