Hepatocarcinoma

El carcinoma hepatocel·lular o hepatocarcinoma és el tipus més freqüent de càncer primari del fetge i la causa de mort més comuna en els pacients afectats per cirrosi hepàtica. És una malaltia entre dos i tres vegades més prevalent en homes que en dones i es desenvolupa en més del 80% dels casos en persones que pateixen malalties hepàtiques cròniques, com la cirrosi causada per hepatitis B o C, consum d'alcohol i malaltia hepàtica per dipòsits de greix.
