Dr. Marc Ferrer Vinardell, psiquiatra del servei de Psiquiatria de l'Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron i investigador del grup de Recerca de Psiquiatria, salut mental i addiccions de l'Institut de Recerca Vall d'Hebron (VHIR)
Metge, especialista sènior en psiquiatria i Doctor en Psiquiatria i Psicologia Clínica. La seva principal àrea d’interès ha estat la del trastorn límit de la personalitat (TLP) i trastorns associats, sobretot els relacionats amb l’adolescència. També ha participat en el desenvolupament de diferents projectes i programes del Servei de Psiquiatria. Actualment ocupa el càrrec de Cap de Secció d'Hospitalització i coordina el Programa pel TLP en adolescents i adults joves.
El Trastorn Límit de la Personalitat (TLP) és un trastorn que debuta a l’adolescència i que en alguns casos pot evolucionar cap a l’edat adulta causant importants limitacions en el funcionament psicosocial. L’evidència dóna suport a la teoria que planteja que el TLP és la conseqüència d’una alteració en el procés de maduració dels joves, en especial la relacionada amb la capacitat de conviure i regular les emocions negatives i la d’estructurar relacions sanes amb altri i amb un/a mateix/a. Cada vegada està més clar que la intervenció precoç sobre els adolescents amb major risc de consolidació del TLP pot ser la clau per millorar el pronòstic del trastorn. Per això és cabdal poder investigar per identificar aquelles variables biològiques i ambientals que poden associar-se a aquest major risc per poder fer tractaments dirigits i intensius
