El síndrome Post-Cuidados Intensivos (PICS, del inglés) es un conjunto de secuelas físicas, emocionales y cognitivas que pueden aparecer en los supervivientes de UCI asociadas a la propia enfermedad crítica, pero también a su manejo durante la UCI. Estas secuelas pueden cronificarse en el tiempo y repercutir negativamente en la funcionalidad y calidad de vida de los supervivientes. El impacto en la salud que puede tener la enfermedad crítica por COVID-19 es actualmente desconocido y, por tanto, es necesaria la caracterización y manejo de las secuelas de los supervivientes de UCI afectados por esta enfermedad.
