Disinformation is defined as false information which is intended to mislead, commonly referred to as “Fake News”. Disinformation about health puts patients and the wider public at risk of suffering unnecessary disability and death. Examples of health-related disinformation and its impact will be considered (in particular relating to MMR vaccination and the use of statin therapy), as will possible drivers of such disinformation and ways that it might be controlled
