"Extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resucitation. How to set up a ECPR program of excellence"
La ressuscitació cardiopulmonar extracorpòria (ECPR) utilitza el sistema ECMO per recuperar pacients en situació d’aturada cardiorespiratòria mitjançant la connexió a un circuit que inclou una bomba centrífuga i una membrana d'intercanvi gasós a través d’una canulació venoarterial. En els darrers anys diverses publicacions han mostrat que amb aquest sistema s'obtenen millors resultats pel que fa a supervivència i estat neurològic que amb la ressuscitació cardiopulmonar convencional. No obstant això, per obtenir aquests resultats es requereix una organització complexa que ha d'incloure un programa assistencial centralitzat en centres d'alt volum (ECMO centers), que involucri a múltiples professionals adequadament entrenats (ECMO team), amb criteris ben definits d'inclusió i exclusió i que es coordini amb el programa de donació del centre.
