La Dra. Carmen Tur, investigadora del VHIR al Cemcat, ha ganado una Ayuda Merck por su proyecto de investigación sobre la esclerosis múltiple.
La Fundación Merck Salud ha galardonado al Dr. Josep Tabernero, jefe del Servicio de Oncología Médica del Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron y director del Vall d’Hebron Instituto de Oncología (VHIO), y al Dr. Xavier Montalban, jefe del Servicio de Neuroinmunología Clínica del Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron, jefe del grupo de investigación en Neuroinmunología Clínica del Vall d’Hebron Instituto de Investigación (VHIR) y director del Centre d’Esclerosi Múltiple de Catalunya (Cemcat), por “la labor que desempeñan contribuyendo a mejorar la salud de las personas y de atención a los pacientes”.
Los galardones se entregaron durante el acto de entrega de las Ayudas Merck de Investigación 2021 que tuvo lugar ayer en Madrid. Además, el acto coincidió con la celebración del 30 aniversario de la Fundación y contó con la presencia de representantes del ámbito de la investigación biomédica, asociaciones de pacientes y autoridades sanitarias.

Durante el acto, la Fundación Merck Salud también otorgó seis Ayudas Merck para la investigación. Uno de ellos fue para la Dra. Carmen Tur, investigadora principal del grupo de investigación en Neuroinmunología Clínica del VHIR al Cemcat, por el proyecto “Caracterización de patrones espaciotemporales de daño tisular cerebral en esclerosis múltiple mediante técnicas de aprendizaje profundo no supervisado”. Así, la Dra. Tur recibirá 30.000 € para poder desarrollar este proyecto.
