La beca de la Societat Europea de Coloproctologia entrena cirurgians colorectals amb experiència en laparoscòpia per realitzar les operacions amb robot Da Vinci.
La Societat Europea de Coloproctologia (ESCP, en les seves sigles en anglès) ha seleccionat Vall d’Hebron com a únic centre de Catalunya per acollir la seva beca en cirurgia robòtica. Es tracta d’una formació de sis mesos que té com a objectiu entrenar cirurgians colorectals amb experiència prèvia en laparoscòpia per realitzar les intervencions amb robot Da Vinci.
Vall d’Hebron forma part d’un total de vuit centres d’arreu d’Europa seleccionats per l’ESCP per realitzar l’estada formativa juntament amb l’Hospital Amphia (a Breda, Països Baixos), el Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, el St Mark's Hospital de Londres i el Newcastle Centre for Bowel Disease (Regne Unit), l’Hospital Universitari Marqués de Valdecilla (Santander), el Presidio Ospedaliero della Misericordia (en Grosseto, Italia) i el Centre Clínic Proctològic i del Sòl Pelvià de l’Hospital Universitari de Pisa (Itàlia).
L’objectiu de la beca de l’ESCP és que els participants, un cop la finalitzin, siguin capaços de portar a terme intervencions amb robot de cirurgia colorectal de malalties benignes i malignes com rectopèxies (fixació quirúrgica del recte) o colectomies (extirpació quirúrgica o resecció d'una part malalta del còlon). El cos teòric de la formació va des de diferents aspectes de la cirurgia robòtica als criteris de selecció del pacient, els estudis de diagnòstic previs al procediment quirúrgic o el seguiment postoperatori.
Aposta per la formació en cirurgia robòtica
Vall d’Hebron compta amb dos robots Da Vinci d’última generació i va posar en marxa el març passat un programa de formació en cirurgia robòtica per a metges residents. Respecte a la cirurgia convencional, la cirurgia robòtica suposa un canvi de paradigma: la mida de les incisions és clarament menor, de forma que es redueix el període postoperatori,; els pacients presenten menys dolor i menys possibilitats de complicacions, i, en definitiva, possibilita una més ràpida incorporació a la vida diària.
Actualment, Vall d’Hebron utilitza la robòtica en cirurgia urològica, cirurgia ginecològica, cirurgia ginecològica oncològica, procediments complexos en patologies benignes, cirurgia bariàtrica, cirurgia colorectal, cirurgia de cap i coll, cirurgia cardíaca, cirurgia general, cirurgia pediàtrica i cirurgia toràcica.
