Soc Doctor en Ciències Mèdiques Bàsiques per la Universitat de Lleida. Actualment lidero el Laboratori de Tumors Neurals del Grup de Recerca Translacional en el Càncer en l'infància i adolescència. El nostre grup té com a finalitat entendre l'agressivitat dels tumors sòlids pediàtrics i desenvolupar noves eines per fer front a aquests tipus de tumor.

Curriculum

En 2000, em vaig graduar en Bioquímica de la Universitat de les Illes Balears, a Mallorca, Espanya.
Després d'obtenir el doctorat en neurobiologia molecular de la Universitat de Lleida, em vaig unir
el Departament de Patologia de la Facultat de Medicina de la Universitat de Nova York, Nova York (EUA) el 2007. En aquest període, he tingut l'oportunitat cobert la major part dels aspectes tècnics i conceptuals de el camp d'investigació de microARN, és a dir, el descobriment de la seva funció, l'anàlisi objectiu, l'expressióla regulació, l'ús com a biomarcadors i viabilitat com a eines terapèutiques. En els últims anys he ampliat el meu interès en la investigació d'altres factors epigenètics com a reguladors de la cromatina.
A l'any 2012, em vaig incorporar al VHIR per d'aplicar els meus coneixements científics al camp del càncer pediàtric, un tema amb clars desavantatges en comparació amb els tumors d'adults i
en la necessitat de nous enfocaments terapèutics.
El nostre principal objectiu és posar en pràctica l'ús de teràpies epigenètiques, és a dir, teràpies
contra moduladors de l'expressió de gens que, al seu torn, regulen diversos gens, o vies
processos cel·lulars.
