We are the combination of four hospitals: the General Hospital, the Children’s Hospital, the Women’s Hospital and the Traumatology, Rehabilitation and Burns Hospital. We are part of the Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus: a world-leading health park where healthcare plays a crucial role.
Patients are the centre and the core of our system. We are professionals committed to quality care and our organizational structure breaks down the traditional boundaries between departments and professional groups, with an exclusive model of knowledge areas.
Would you like to know what your stay at Vall d'Hebron will be like? Here you will find all the information.
The commitment of Vall d'Hebron University Hospital to innovation allows us to be at the forefront of medicine, providing first class care adapted to the changing needs of each patient.
The Post-Surgical Care Area at the General Hospital, located on the third and fourth floors, cares for patients from various specialties according to the intensity of care and clinical complexity. The short-stay unit is on the fourth floor (odd-numbered rooms), intermediate care is on the same floor (even-numbered rooms), and intensified care is on the third floor. This organization, based on areas of expertise, allows for comprehensive and standardized care, improving coordination and the quality of surgical care.
The area promotes the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program, which addresses the surgical process through a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach, from preoperative preparation to postoperative recovery. The program provides personalized tools to optimize the patient’s condition before surgery and reduce complications afterward, promoting faster and safer recovery. With this holistic approach, the area ensures care focused on efficiency, safety, and patient well-being.
