Psoriasis, how to treat it
Description
There are three types of treatment:
- Topical. Creams, shampoos and lotions that are applied directly to the skin.
- Phototherapy. Treatment with ultraviolet light A (UVA) or B (UVB rays), usually administered 2-3 times a week for 2-3 months.
- Systemic or generalised. Drugs administered orally (pills) or injected. They must be monitored strictly by means of blood tests, to check for possible adverse effects
