Immune-Mediated Diseases Area

The Immune-Mediated Diseases Area at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital integrates the services of allergy, dermatology, and rheumatology, which share the management of immunologically mediated conditions that are often chronic and have a significant impact on quality of life. The activity is primarily outpatient and includes biologic treatments, day hospital care, and specialized procedures such as desensitization to new drugs, dermatologic surgery, and diagnostic ultrasound in rheumatology.

Collaborative work among the services generates synergies that enhance care, research, and teaching, fostering comprehensive attention for patients with chronic inflammatory diseases. Specialized nursing plays a key role in patient follow-up and health education, particularly in the administration of biologic treatments. In addition, the Al·lèrgia Zero course, promoted by the Allergy service, strengthens professional training in the detection and management of allergic reactions. Thanks to this collaborative approach, the area promotes innovative, safe, and patient-centered care.
