We are the combination of four hospitals: the General Hospital, the Children’s Hospital, the Women’s Hospital and the Traumatology, Rehabilitation and Burns Hospital. We are part of the Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus: a world-leading health park where healthcare plays a crucial role.
Patients are the centre and the core of our system. We are professionals committed to quality care and our organizational structure breaks down the traditional boundaries between departments and professional groups, with an exclusive model of knowledge areas.
Would you like to know what your stay at Vall d'Hebron will be like? Here you will find all the information.
The commitment of Vall d'Hebron University Hospital to innovation allows us to be at the forefront of medicine, providing first class care adapted to the changing needs of each patient.
The Pediatric Specialty Patient Care Area of Vall d’Hebron University Hospital provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care encompassing inpatient hospitalization, outpatient services, day hospitals, palliative care, and specialized treatments such as therapeutic apheresis and pediatric dialysis. The units are distributed between the Children’s Hospital and the Women’s Hospital. The area also includes advanced practice nurses and specialized clinics, ensuring continuity of care from childhood through the transition to adulthood.
Working within areas of expertise enables a coordinated approach that addresses both the medical and social aspects of pediatric patients. The area promotes ongoing training for physicians and nurses and stands out for innovative projects such as pediatric home hospitalization, which delivers hospital-level care in the patient’s home. This model reduces hospital admissions and the risk of infections, improves children’s quality of life, and strengthens the role of families in the recovery process. With this vision, the area consolidates a model of pediatric care that is excellent, flexible, and centered on the well-being of the child and their environment.
