Dra. Laia Delgado Montfort

I have a degree in medicine and surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2012-2018). During the fifth year of my degree I also did a university stay at the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico (January-June 2017). Subsequently, I did my residency in psychiatry at the Hospital Universitario Parc Taulí (May 2019- May 2023). During the residency I opted for the path A specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and did an external rotation in Child and Adolescent Interconsultation at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital (September 2022) and an external rotation in the Child and Adolescent hospitalization unit at the Ricardo Gutierrez Children's Hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina (December 2022 - February 2023).

During the residency I had the opportunity to participate in several research projects, as well as to present several oral communications and posters in multiple congresses and to publish an article as first author.

Since my last year of residency I have been focused on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, although I am also interested in Liaison and Interconsultation Psychiatry, Perinatal Psychiatry and Adult Hospitalization units.

On a daily basis, I am in charge of the treatment and stabilization of patients admitted to the Child and Adolescent Hospitalization Unit, as well as the coordination with other referents in order to establish a therapeutic plan upon discharge from the hospital. In the same way, I am also in charge of attending Child and Adolescent Psychiatry emergencies.
