Support for diagnosis and treatment

We present the departments that provide support for the hospital care teams in diagnostic tests and the follow-up of treatments. These are the Pharmacy Department, the Institute for Diagnostic Imaging, the Vall d'Hebron Clinical Laboratories and the Medical Physics and Radiation Protection Department. These departments work to meet the demand generated by Vall d'Hebron care teams in terms of the various diagnostic tests available, providing support for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of the healthcare process.

Pharmacy

The Pharmacy Department supports the healthcare activity and its main objective is the safe and efficient use of medication. It is recognised as a collaborating centre of the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP), thanks to our role in preventing medication errors. It is highly automated and includes robotics in the preparation of injectable and parenteral nutrition.
