Hospital at home Vall d’Hebron’s Hospital at Home Unit was launched in 2006. It mainly treats patients from the Accident and Emergency Department and the hospitalisation units, and, to a lesser extent, patients at home following a request from their family doctor. Three teams in one The Hospital at Home Unit is home to three healthcare teams: one for internal medicine, one for pneumology and one for nutritional support. The most common patients are those who present acute and chronic infections and require home-based endovascular antibiotics, those with acute chronic diseases (mainly chronic lung disease and heart failure), chronic respiratory failure and home mechanical ventilation, as well as patients requiring enteral nutrition, meaning they are fed by tube, and parenteral nutrition, where they are fed intravenously. Actualment, inclou 20 professionals i pot atendre a la vegada fins a 54 pacients. El 2021 se'n van beneficiar 1.196 pacients, xifra que representa un increment del 31,4 % respecte de l’any 2020.
